LOCATION
The Southern Cross 24 Hour Ultra Marathon is located at Felixstow Reserve, approximately 9 km northeast of Adelaide in South Australia. Felixstow Reserve was refurbished in 2019 to create an open and welcoming space for all visitors whilst retaining its deep connection with the local Kaurna people.
Felixstow Reserve includes an innovative wetland which functions as a stormwater harvesting system, as well as creating a home to a plethora of birds and wildlife. The whole area is surrounded by majestic gum trees and native shrubs. The Reserve is a popular destination for runners, walkers, picnic goers, families and tourists and remains a shared space for everyone throughout the event.
Felixstow Reserve is approximately 15 minutes’ drive from the Adelaide city centre and approximately 30 minutes’ drive from Adelaide Airport.

COURSE MEASUREMENT AND CERTIFICATION
Race participants will complete laps of the 918.44m metre loop as indicated below, along the bitumen path. The path will be marked. The Southern Cross 24 Hour course at Felixstow Reserve has been measured by AIMS- qualified measurer Michael Slagter and has full AIMS certification.

FACILITIES
All runners will be provided with a shared space within a pre-erected gazebo. The space will include a shared table and an individual chair. Eskys can be provided for runners coming from interstate or overseas.
Runners are welcome to bring their own Esky and chair and other requirements for their race. A gazebo space is not mandatory. If runners choose not to take a space, there will be a communal area where a chair, esky and belongings can be set up.
Because of council restrictions, only gazebos set up by the Event Organisers will be permitted and space will be allocated to each runner. For 2026, runners are not able to bring their own gazebos.
Note that power is not available at the gazebo sites so runners are encouraged to bring portable batteries to ensure their devices remain charged.
Felixstow Reserve has public toilets which will be available during the day. We are currently in negotiation with the council to have the toilets remain open overnight. There will also be portable toilets, situated in the carpark at the eastern end of the Reserve, which will be available throughout the event.
The Main Aid Station will be operated by race support staff and volunteers and will provide food and snacks including chips, lollies, fresh fruit, noodles and soups. Hydration options will include water, Tailwind, soft drinks and tea/coffee/hot chocolate.
